This mountain range can be considered as a national resource gifted by Nature. The mountain range borders across Kandy and Matale districts. While it is surrounded by Mahaweli river valley from its southern and eastern borders, Matale district covers its western border, separating the Knuckles Mountain Range from the Central Hills. One can reach Knuckles through Meemure by travelling to Theldeniya in Kandy from Colombo.

The largest national park in the South of Sri Lanka. Yala is one of the most popular wildlife attraction in the island. It is also called Ruhunu National Park. Its large variety of wild animals and birds is the major reason for this popularity. It is a conducive place for wild animals due to the Indian Ocean which is next to the park, the natural forest conservation, and Kumana national park.

Although Balapitiya is famous for its mouth-watering Tuna, it enters the history due to ‘Maha Kappitha Walawwa’ located in Balapitiya. But, at present, there is not a single trace of it as it was built way back in 1878. 35 Miles along the Galle Road towards the South from Colombo, is where you will find the picture-perfect coast of Balapitiya. The splendid Madu river flows across Balapitiya. The river is home to a variety of aquatic animals. A boat ride in Madu river is not to be missed. There are around 64 small islands in Madu river. While sailing through the waters of this scenic river, one has the luxury of indulging in a blissful fish massage in the cabins built along the river. One can also pay a visit to the cinnamon plantations in the islands, and taste some fresh cinnamon bites.

Kandy, a city with a mild weather and rich scenic beauty, is the capital of Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is also called ‘Senkadagalapura’. Kandy is located 12km away from Colombo. The city is declared as a world heritage since it houses one of the most significant Buddhist artifacts, the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.
